lee brennan biography

Lee Anthony Brennan was born on the 27th September 1973 in Carlilse. Lee's dream was to play football and to represent his County (team), however, due to an illness he was unable to continue with his career.
Performing was his next best love, in 1995 Lee teamed up with
Jimmy Constable and Simon Dawbarn 'Spike' , dancers from the late-night tv show 'The Hitman and Her', in the role of lead vocals, 911 the band was born.

Soon after Lee moved to Scotland, 911 released two singles on an independent label whilst doing various gigs around the country. The singles were big hits and in 1996 911 got signed on a lucrative record deal with Virgin Records marking the point from when their career took off.
The band were always in great demand, 911 successfully toured the UK, the 'Reunited' and the 'Asia' tours (Kuala Lumpur, Penang) were a big hit.

It was just after the 'Malaysia tour' that the band drained from gigging and feeling that it was time to move on whilst on top decided to call it a day.
Sadly the end came in February 2000 when 911 announced their split live on Chris Moyles Radio 1 show.

911 and Lee Brennan have a strong worldwide fanbase from places as far as South East Asia where they have had a sell out tour and their album 'The Journey' stayed at number 1 for twenty weeks going platinum 7 times.

911 sold over seven million records, released four albums and had 10 UK top-10 singles including a number with 'A Little Bit More'.
More classics soon followed, notably 'Party People', 'The Journey', 'Private Number', 'Night To Remember', 'Don't Make Me Wait', ‘More Than A Woman’ and the energetic catching & dance rhythmic hit 'Bodyshakin'.

After the split Lee simply wanted to spend some time out of the spotlight and live 'a normal life'. Lee continued song writing. "We split up because we'd had our time and it was time to move over for someone else. I didn't have a clue what I wanted to do with myself. I was like, do I want to try singing again? Acting or Presenting? I didn't know what the hell to do, so I just sat at home and had a rest first and got my mind clear for six months".

During the summer of 2001 Spike was contacted from the agent who used to manage 911's old concerts, he wanted to put a theatre tour together, the approach resulted in the 'Reunited Tour' late in 2001, 911 was officially reformed.
Lee recalls "We had a good time doing it and there was a good response to it. At the end of the day it was worth doing and it was just good to get back on stage again". Later in the year Lee went into co-writing a couple of tracks with Howard Donald, ex 'Take That' star and has written more songs and a number 1 hit for Blue 'If you come back'.

2002 brought the release of Lee Brennan's first solo debut single 'Turn it around'- an up-tempo spirited british pop song.
Lee followed with acting work playing various roles on stage in pantos and shows around the UK.
In 2005 the band was invited to take part in ITV production 'Hit Me Baby One More Time', the show aspired to give bands a fresh shot at today's charts. 911 won a place in the final where they performed one of their many greatest hits - 'Bodyshakin' and a cover version of 'S Club 7's 'Dont stop movin', unfortunately 911 didn't win but it wasn't all bad as it lead to a welcome renewed interest in the group.

On the 14th of September 2006 Lee married Lindsay Armaou formerly of girl band
B*Witched , Lindsay is still in the music business pursuing a solo career with the country music band 'Clayton'. Lee and Lindsay met back in 1998 when B*Witched were the supporting act for the 911 UK tour. Lindsay describes Lee as one of the most laid-back guy she's ever met, “ It took him seven months to ask me out and seven years to propose ”. :-) That's Lee !!!.

Lee Brennan regularly rejoins with the band for gigs and whilst persuing his acting career continues songwiting, Lee is currently auditioning for various roles and will be performing as Alladin in the Christmas 2007 panto.
